Angels without Wings

WHAT: Angels without Wings offers assistence to families who have children with terminal illnesses or life altering conditions. Our main focus is on making it possible for children to receive the correct treatment / procedures regardless of their family's financial situation. We offer financial and emotional support. We assist about 39 aww children and about 40 in various hospitals.

Social Entrepreneur Youth Empowerment

WHAT: My project is to harness young people with entrepreneur knowledge and skills. To start and run their own small business in their community to be able to empower themselves. Also learners at schools to know about how to save money and spend it wisely. We are capable of demonstrating to the community that we can change young people to behavioural manner, in fighting HIV and AIDS. To cope with positive attitude that can lead to healthy lifestyles.

WHAT: We give food on a daily basis to orphaned and vulnerable due to HIV/Aids and childheaded families.The children learn more activities and we help them with school projects.we go around the community and ask clothes to those who have and help our children.we give them councilling and we encourage them to plant vegetables at their yard as a relieve to the challenges they are facing.

WHAT: THIS IS A PLAYGROUP, BUT OF THE 48 CHILDREN THERE IS 35 VERY POOR CHILDREN. THE ONLY FOOD THEY GET IS THE ONE PLATE THEY GET AT THE "SCHOOL". PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY SUPPLY FOOD AND CLOTHES.

Smile Foundation

WHAT: We’re About Putting Smiles on the Faces of Children in South Africa! The Smile Foundation is a South African NGO that assists children with any type of facial abnormality, to receive free corrective Plastic and Reconstructive surgery within South Africa. We help children who suffer from treatable facial deformities such as Cleft Lip and Palate, burn victims, Moebius syndrome (facial paralysis) and other conditions. We are currently based in 7 Academic Hospitals around South Africa. We are investing in the medical teams we work with, through a Skills Development programme, and we assist the hospitals by purchasing equipment for use by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. To date, we have changed almost 1000 lives. Our Chief Patron Nelson Mandela’s wish is for us to assist as many children around South Africa as possible.

Micah6 

WHAT: Micah6 is about "justice through education". We send vulnerable girls from Cato Manor to better schools than they could attend on their own. We do this by connecting sponsors with each life and providing weekly academic and care support for our sponsored candidates. We also engage in school improvement projects in schools that need it, for example setting up libraries. 

NEED: We would like to enroll a new cohort of girls from Cato Manor into good primary schools in Durban so that they benefit from excellent schooling foundations (inadequately provided in Cato Manor area schools). We need sponsorship for individual young lives to attend good primary schools in the Durban area. Fees per year are typically R14100 per learner in these schools. Part and full sponsorship is welcome as well as contributions to the general running of the NGO. Get on board and invest in the the potential of a new generation!

Carel du Toit Centre

WHAT: We are the only Centre in the WC/ FS which teaches deaf children to speak prior to grade R in a structured school environment,with the aim of placing them in mainstream schools for normal hearing children. Our deaf children range between the ages 0 - 10 years. Children are fitted with hearing aids and then they attend class on daily basis to learn natural spoken langauge. Our children do not sign they talk. We also have satellites in EL and Cape Town.
